SCG_motoadve Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Tried different joysticks commands, different letters, different missions and Autopilot just does not work. Letter A nothing happens. Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe the function was deleted somewhere? is there a way to check? Level autopilot does work though.
SCG_motoadve Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 I have gone to settings in game , then changed the letter A to other letters and other joystick buttons and nothing works. Is there a file where I can check this?
SCG_motoadve Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 This is happening with any airplane, 109, Lagg , Yak, Mig , it used to work, and I re installed IL BOS to my new computer, everything works perfect , but no autopilot.
Ghost666 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Have you checked the difficulty setting to make sure it is checked?
Ghost666 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Oh! Good, I finally got something right in this game
Gambit21 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Dave if you saw my previous post disregard. The fact that it wasn't working properly in the public build is why I was testing my missions with the player aircraft disabled/set to AI. It's been a while since I've used the public build so I'd forgotten that piece for a minute.

I am not sure what context you are trying to use autopilot or what you think it should do - but I think that standard autopilot in BoX does not turn your plane into an autonomous AI: it still needs to be told what to do in the mission design. So for instance in a mission where the player plane is assigned waypoints, when you start the mission as player you will be in auto-level straight flight. Move a control and you will be in player control. Press "A" and the plane will now follow the waypoints as set in the mission. I assume that if the player plane also has other instructions - attack etc - it will do that too, but I have not checked. edit: and check that you have "autopilot enabled" in difficulty settings.
