Bilou Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) Vive user here, and I have to say that the scale is wrong for me as well, cockpits appear larger than they should (and so does the wings). Using LeFuneste's mod, I can correct it with a global shift of -0.012. Edited April 8, 2018 by Bilou
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) A 109 cockpit in reality is much smaller than you'd expect. Instrument panel from left to right is what, 40-50cm? Edited April 11, 2018 by SCG_Fenris_Wolf
Rataz Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I have not had a chance to try the mod yet. Cockpits may have been small, but in this case (this game + HP VR headset) the cockpit is so small that an adult would not be able to even get inside the plane. It is simple to see that the size of the VR pilot's camera needs to be smaller because when looking down at the pilot's seat, the distance is much too close. If it were a real plane, I would be hunched over and my legs going through the floor, touching the ground, and still be bent. Similar to the guy below Or 1

If we could adjust the IPD / World scale manually in game with a slider, like you can in DCS world, then you could fix your issue, and it would also fix the issue people with WMR headsets are having with tiny cockpits :/

Anyway, the current VR implementation is a bit weird in other aspects. For instance, people have been complaining about a visible black bar in the center of the view (near the nose), and when you look up the value of "or_width" in startup.cfg, you'll see that they are indeed cutting up the width. For me, it is at 1343 instead of 1628. Is it a bug? Is it done on purpose to improve performance?
Bilou Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 81. A dark bar in the center of the image in HTC Vive that some users could see has been removed (that was a performance optimization); Oh well
Aloha-Snackbar Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 There was a fix for Pimax 4k HMDs too in the patch.. nothing for WMR though :/ afaik pimax isnt an officially supported headset so thats interesting....
Bilou Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 I just tested the new update to see if the black bar removal would fix the IPD issue I had with the vive, and it did!

Glad to see they got this fixed for you guys! Also the entry into the game is much smoother now in VR without all the flashing screen. Much better! Edited April 18, 2018 by dburne
guidom Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 yep just checked with the Samsung, still no fix. fingers crossed for 3.003 1
WIS-Redcoat Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 (edited) Amazing they spent time to work on Pimax.. WMR has to have a much larger audience. Edited April 19, 2018 by WIS-Redcoat 1
