I wish new option to bombers

put on option to bomb-selection to leave my gunners home and instead of that taking more bombs...

 

my gunners are so useless that I dont want them anymore onboard... They never get any hit to enemies...

 

and only that option to axis bombers very appreciated...

I don't think leaving gunners out will let you take more bombs with you as bombs and gunners are situated in complete other parts of the aircraft.

I may be wrong if it has to do with weight.

And useless gunners...I think a lot of us would be happy if gunners would loose their sniper accuracy one day.

But the option to leave 'em out just for sake of weight reduction might be interesting for recon missions.

I don’t think this request makes much sense.

 

Historical accuracy aside, it is not like leaving the gunners at home will magically create more hardpoints for the bombs to be attatched to. That is actually the main limit to what bomb loads can be carried in the sim. We can already severely overload many of the bombers if we want to.

 

Another issue with this idea is the simple fact that while the bomb load on an aircraft is usually placed close to the CoG (for obvious reasons), gunner positions in general are not (the He 111 being an exception) swapping gunners for bombs would shift the CoG on the plane leading to stability issues.

 

And what’s with the request that this only be applied to German aircraft? The Luftwaffe already severely outguns the VVS in bomb loads. If any planes needed larger bombloads (which they don’t) it’d be the Soviet bombers.

I think the OP is winding us up - the request is to remove gunners from LW bombers only.... presumably as OP mainly flies VVS...

I don't think he means for this to be taken seriously.

And, FYI, my gunner shot down a vvs pilot who was straffing the airbase while I was on the runway. Only took him 3 shots. (Stay away from the front of h16s!)
