ironk79 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Is there a way to change the ingame markers (planes) to just a minimum small red or blue marking? If not, please Devs, could it be possible to add this to a future update? Playing in VR Identifying planes is very hard, especially in a multi dogfight. It would be enough to distiquish between friend or foe, without having the large plane type / name tags. I mostly play without anything active as long as possible and only switch on " I " if absolutly nescessary.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I have been asking for these options since the start and it never has got any traction
1_Robert_ Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Give it some time, like anything you getter better as you go. Remember you have an advantage of spotting over non-VRers, and a slight disadvantage at identifying. I no longer have much trouble, it’s amazing how you will develop an ability to assess a situation when approaching unidentified aircraft. One hint I’d give is know the 109 shape like the back of your hand, even with the poor resolution in VR you can make out the 109 fairly easily. If it’s not a 109, if it doesn’t have an undercarriage hanging down (ju87), and if it’s not a bomber then chances are it’s not a friendly fighter.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 You can use lefuneste's zoom fix mod so you get a similar zoom like non-vr players. It can also fix idp issues for various new headsets, or at least mitigate them. Both spotting and identifying will be the same like on a monitor. I often ID earlier than those flying with me on monitors. It is found in hardware section - VR section of these forums.
Guest deleted@134347 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Give this mod a try. It'll give you +5 zoom which is a godsend for the VR users. You won't need any markers after that. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/30556-3dmigoto-mod-vr/ easy to install (just copy files), the only thing is if you want to assign a joystick button to the mod zoom then you will need to use a Joy2Key program (free, https://joytokey.net/en/)to map a keyboard binding (from the mod config, usually Alt+arrow_Up) to the joystick button of your desire.
