SCG_motoadve Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 So far I have Il2 running pretty good. Ultra settings 4x AA Dynamic resolution full. SS 2.0 All at highest settings mirrors simple or none, this kills my FPS ASW off Running now at 90FPS smoothly unless a very very busy mission I get a few sttuters now and then. If I overclock the GPU a bit more , all those stutters are gone, but eventually I start to get graphic artifacts , so need to back up the OC a bit. This is what makes me believe a 1080Ti will run without this mini pauses, on very busy missions, and maybe even allow more SS? i7 8700k @ 5.0 GTX 1080 (OC) Win 10 Oculus Rift VR M.2 SSD I know some guys reports they do not see a difference above 1.7 SS, I do see it, specially instruments, and planes , not ground.
dburne Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Yes you would get somewhat better performance, I assume you are talking about SS setting in Stream VR - if so you could probably up it a little. Whether it is worth the cost to you, well that might be hard to say. I went from a 1080 to a 1080 Ti, and am glad I did in my case. Problem today is finding a 1080 Ti , through a regular seller at regular price with all the miners buying them up. Because of this folks are taking advantage and buying them up when available just to resell on Ebay and get higher prices for them. One thing for sure, with your rig a 1080 Ti would complement it nicely.
SCG_motoadve Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 It will be a $150 investment I can sell my 1080 for $700 and found a 1080 for $850

SCG_motoadve Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 I'd wait if you have a 1080 already for the next-gen appearing soon. I might do that, how powerful will they be ? a lot more than the 1080 Ti? Might be needed to run the next gen VR headsets to be able to take the most out of then.
