SCG_motoadve Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Anyone knows with certainty? I heard it both ways.
dburne Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 No , only setting to " prefer max performance" really does.
Boneboys Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 What about Lod Distortion when AF is activated (in-game Sharp filter)? Set to Clamp (or Fixation in French) in the Nvidia CP. = Texture Filtering / MIP when scene is in movement. It really does depend on the game and how texture filtering is used by the game Engine /SDK + your settings. If you run with no texture filtering and low SS then it won't make much difference anyhow. In IL-2 Box it is at best perceptible (I ask myself if the Devs have not clamped already in the Sharpen filter). In PC2 I notice a clear difference when I've clamped my lods . Try it ! Preference rules...
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 (edited) It has no difference for Rift users. I tested it, so now I know with certainty in my book. If you want to adjust the picture, best go with lefuneste's mod. New version has almost no FPS impact at all. Edited February 11, 2018 by SCG_JoCool

He posted the other day showing about an 18% drop in FPS from that mod (see post #14 in this thread: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/34005-measuring-rig-performance-kuban-test-track/ ).
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Compared to the old version, the fps impact is neglibible for what you get. It fixes ASW artifacts (flashing crosshair), increases Zoom (identification issues), and contrast (Oculus CV1/Vive were too grey by default to avoid godrays).
dburne Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/oculus-rift-nv-control-panel-digital-vibrance-etc-doesnt-work-in-newer-drivers.416880/ Apparently Oculus requested this ability to be removed. Edited February 13, 2018 by dburne
