CloD Graphics Card Question

Quick question for all you CloD flyers out there:

 

Has anyone had luck with using a graphics card that is not on the "supported" GPU list? I've thought about trying this sim out before, but the stories of poor performance on all but the best machines has kept me from buying it. I know that the team fusion mods have greatly improved the sim, so I'm wondering if they've expanded the supported graphics chips as well.

 

I run ROF and BOS on a laptop with an AMD FirePro M5950 GPU. Even though the FirePro was designed as a workstation graphics chip, I've been able to run ROF and BOS on decently high settings with good results (can't run with super-sampling, but almost everything else is maxed out).

I don't know about FirePro, but nvidia quadro cards do work in CloD, so I would assume that it will too. Anyway CloD costs something like 10$, so it won't be huge lose if it doesn't.

CloD in its current Team Fusion version is not comparable anymore to its release state but I think it is save to say that the sim is more performance-demanding than RoF/BoS.

 

After making a quick research on the performance of your FirePro M5950 you surely will not be able to fly CloD with highest settings. I even would expect that you will have a rather hard time.

But as mprhead said, you nearly get it for free so why not just giving it a try?

Nice to hear that about the Quadro cards, I believe they're pretty comparable to FirePro's. I just checked on amazon, and you're right, the price has come down quite a bit since I last checked.
