Thank You IL-2 Developers

I've played and continue to play a lot of flight sims. From FSX to P3D to XP11 to DCS to the previous IL titles. None of them compare. 

 

Never have I encountered a development team as dedicated to their title as I have with this one. Never, ever have I seen a developer go above and beyond with regards to (free) platform updates and an embedded involvement within their own community as I've seen here. These are aspects you seldom see in the FS realm let alone the game-development world. For that, for all you've done and will do, I just wanna say thank you.

Agreed, they are awesome people! From my experience the are the best developers of any game in my opinion.

This was the first game I played where back in beta, not only did the developers release a "Developer Diaries" every Friday but also openly answered questions on the forums, a lot of questions, they were really hearing us out, connected with the community and responding, you just don't get that now days. They even have pictures of their flight model sources on the website, actual paper archives. Transparent and dedicated to get it right.

Agreed. I have made posts like this before but I can't say enough this is a great product series from a great team and I am looking forward to all their future products.

 

I have a special love for their WW1 sim and I very much look forward to seeing it upgraded with this new engine.

 

Between this series and DCS it is a good time to be a high-fidelity flight sim fan. Even Warthunder adds value to the genre.

 

Their flight models aren't much to brag about but the sheer variety of planes is stunning. I lose myself in checking out as many planes as I can because their 3d models are stunning.

 

In a perfect world we would have gaijin/777 join forces to produce a masterpiece of a platform series. All those gorgeous planes combined with their high fidelity flight models. Flight sim heaven.  Alas it could never be.

This is a rare kind of honest hard working team that we have working on our favorite sim and there's not many of these nowadays.

 

Sorry neostar but I strongly disagree with that nonsense I don't want a company like Gaijin anywhere near actual flight sims to turn them into poor quality free to play cash machines.

My preferred flight simulator ever, when it comes to powerful prop aircraft...

 

Not an air ( or any sort of ) combat fan, but IL-2 gives me a hell of a great time playing it after all :-)

 

Regarding the team dedication, it's unique indeed - I wish I had that in my civil sims...

Yes these devs deserve a huge round of thanks for the incredible job they continue to do with this sim. This next update is going to be awesome.
