smooth mouse movements?

I 've been struggling with an issue for some time and haven't been able to find a definite solution. I 'm trying to create a video and would like to use some shots from the Alt+F2 cameras.

When zoomed in, it is almost impossible to create a "smooth" panning with that camera. It always gets chopped up at some degree, corresponding to the exact movements of the mouse. This is in contrast to the normal F2 camera, that seems to already lead to smooth movements. I 've tried various tricks (like downloading a software called "steady mouse"), but they don't work. I 've found that  with TrackIR you can control the Alt+F2 camera, but unfortunately it is only one axis.

 

Any ideas on how to tackle this? Is there any available software or in-game option that would help? Or should I try a gaming mouse? Is there perhaps any way to get TrackIR to control all the axes?
