Saving Custom Key Mapping

Hi All,

 

Question:  Is there a way to save control settings that I have customized to my flight stick and the key board??

 

   I have customized control settings for aircraft, but what if I want to change the controls for a tank and then later, switch back to an aircraft??   Or, what if I want to customize controls for flying a Spitfire, then rearrange the controls for a bomber, and later, go back to a Spitfire??  

  

  I don't wish to be confusing;  maybe I'm missing a SAVE setting somewhere.   Do I have to save the game or the mission??  Because I haven't had any success with that.    I am so tired of resetting the controls all the time;  it takes away from game time.

Hello  "Rekt",

 

  Your reply sounds very reasonable.

   In the data file, found in the input folder  you have mentioned,  I have already made a copy of the file called "current", which are the default settings.

 

   When I change the settings (so now I have a new "current" file)  can you please tell me how to put that file back to the game directory.  Is the directory in the bin files, (from which I launch the game) or in the data files, where the settings are located??    I want to be sure I'm switching around the right folders so I don't screw things up.

Yes, having to reset the controls is very wearysome and frustrating.

 

We should be able to assign our aircraft specific inputs to their own craft file and not into a single 'input' folder. I often wonder how complicated it would be to program that simple sounding functionality.

An alternative method is to bind as many keys as you want with the modifiers and put them into Excel. Then you can print it ans also save it to PDF
