Hello guy's,

I have :

Windows 10

RAM 4 Go

intel® Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 ghz

graphics card : GeForce GT 740M

(tell me if you need Something else)

How to make il2 bos be fluent ?

Are you using a laptop or a PC?

Looks like a Laptop judging from the gpu.  Looks like that set up may struggle.

GT 740M is too weak to run BoS effectively at any settings.

You should use a laptop with a better GPU, or preferably a desktop.

By default BoS will try to use your laptops native graphics. Make sure it knows to use the 740M and you should see better results.

Thakn's a lot for your answers,

I'm playing with a laptop ..... As i am a student it will be complicated (or impossible) to change my computer ....

Ok but how to make sure BOS knows to use the 740M ??

because the game is really really not responsive ...

Click on a check box in the parameter (camera cinematic in aim to disable it for better performance) is complected and it is a 20 s process ..... (aiming and shouting down a plain with a hotas x is an easy task compare to this :P )

Your laptop is well below the minimum specs on the store page and those minimum specs were never realistic to begin with. You can't expect it to run well. As for how to ensure your dedicated GPU is being, right click a blank area of your desktop, click "Nvidia Control Panel," go to manage 3d settings and at the very top you should see a preferred graphics card or some such option. change it from auto or HDxxxx to GTX 740m. I don't think this will help much since the GTX 740m is pretty terrible, but it may improve things slightly.

Edit: small typo

In real life ?

I'm in france

Why do you ask me this ?

I have done some research, and I found out it was possible to have a external GPU, is it a good solution ?

And if yes how to do it without removing the wireless card ?

External GPU is not a good solution.

Performance is severely limited and the hardware can be awkward to set up. Although external GPUs are possible, they are simply not worth the price. It is likely cheaper to get an entirely new computer.

The requirements for BoS are not that high. If you really want to play, buy or build a desktop with at least a dual-core CPU from the last five years, 4 GB of RAM, and a GTX 660 or better.

I do not know how it is in France, but in many countries there are ways to get cheap gaming computers. One way is to buy an inexpensive office desktop and add a compatible graphics card. Perhaps there is a second-hand market that would allow you to buy an older gaming system. If you are smart, I know it is possible to get a good gaming desktop in Europe for as little as ~350 Euro.

This will be much better than anything that you can achieve with a laptop and external GPU for the same price.

well i could be a solution, but my problem is that i do not have a lot of money to spent ... (less than 100 €)

it's why i'm going to wait (maybe a couple of years) to buy an other computer

this evening i will check if il2 bos use native graphics or my graphic card and see what i can do

Bonjour!

I wasn't sure if English was your first language and I wanted to know where you were from. It's great to see people from every country here.

I bought a new rig now waiting for it to arrive.

But my impression is that BOS run so  nicely on old systems atm. I have medium settings with my old one a:

i7 2,8 ghz 18 gb ram and gtx 680 . I have no stutter. So for BOS a used setup will work if you go for a relatively good  stationary, even used ones

Check in your NVidia drivers that IL-2 Bos is running on the 740 and not on the Intel integrated graphics. This is a common problem.

Thank's for all !

I finaly find out how to make it "playable" really not perfect but playable !

The game was running on the native graphics, not on the GPU

Then i just decrease resolution from 1920 1080 to 1200 960 (or something like this), disable shadow and hdr

Yes graphics aren't as good as they could be but I can play :)

Next step (when i'll have enough money) buy a real computer !

Good flight for all of you !

Build a 2nd gen Intel i7-2600k desktop from second-hand parts.

Intel Core i7-2600K processor

Z68 Motherboard

8GB DDR3 1666MHz RAM (preferably 16GB, but 8GB will work.)

GTX 770 2GB graphics card.

You can find all them parts used, and run this game on high settings like a champ.

No, it will not help unless your software is using too much. That is something that you can check in task manager.

More RAM doesn't help unless you are maxing out. Faster RAM might help if your RAM is very old and with low frequencies.
