Babayega Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 On 2 separate servers, I have noticed a lot of laggy choppiness around heavy dogfights or a very busy base. Both on WOL and TAW servers. My FPS always stays at 60 so I dont think its FPS related. I have a 150 Mbps connection so my network settings in the game are always 10 down/ 10 up. Anyone have any work around for this? I was protecting an airbase on TAW server and when there were lots of aircraft in the area it was very choppy. On SP missions or the PWCG with lots of stuff going on, it doesnt do this at all. it seems to be network related. My pings are around 127 to 150 due to me being in the USA. I dont think the pings are the issue either. Anyone that can help, I would greatly appreciate it!
=EXPEND=Capt_Yorkshire Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 yea it happens to me i just remove the hud that seems to help.
katdog5 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 (edited) whats up man ATL ! Yeah thats odd with your setup. Im in VR and I dont have those issues. (I go to those servers too) My bud has same setup as you and no issues like that (although he's at 5Ghz) . Sooo...the only thing I can think of is to double check your connection with speedtest ... but prob not that Id venture to say your settings may need tweaking. First, I know that i-7700 can go to 5.0 no problem. What are your settings like? Anything like Hud on all the time (KILLER) or High Shadows? (#2 KILLER) Ultra setting? A few mouse clicks you should be all set. Also look into Dynamic Resolution Factor. Mine is set at .8. Go fly in the Kuban mountains with a 45 degree sun and heavy clouds with 8 bombers to see if you can keep DRF 1 Edited January 30, 2018 by katdog5

I keep medium shadows because I know those can be killer. I did an 8v8 flight in Kuban with heavy weather in the mountains and never got below my vsync of 60. I think the problem came with the HUD. I didnt realize that the HUD was that much of a FPS killer.

Babayega Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 Well that may explain it then. I always thought the HUD was a FPS killer in VR but since I dont use VR I figured it would be ok to have turned on. My system is certainly capable of running at high settings with lots going on. I have done it in SP many times. I guess all those messages of people exiting, chatting, etc..really make things choppy.
FTC_DerSheriff Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Its the server. Has nothing to do wih your rig. At least not for the major part. And more precisely the server software which is not ideal.
BubiHUN Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 (edited) This happens with lot of players. I read that tdevs will fix this hud issue . I hope they really will. Edited January 31, 2018 by -[HRAF]BubiHUN
Babayega Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 I hope so as I had the same issue after I disabled the HUD. I dont quite understand it because I can run a single player campaign mission with the PWCG and have terrible weather, lots of AI, and stuff going on...and never ever drop below 60 FPS or have stuttering. But get me online and have 6 planes fighting over a base and its stutter city. HUD or not. Away from the bases 1on 1 or 2 v 2 isnt bad. But if there is a big furball, its chop city...but the FPS stays at 60 so its very strange.
JG1_Shadepiece Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I was having some similar issues as well, and I need to make sure I turn the HUD off, because I don't use technochat or anything anymore, but I got marked performance improvements when I turned down my network rates. I turned it to 4 up/4 down, and I rarely get the choppy issue anymore.
