Attention Pilots!

1C Game Studios and the Sturmovik Team is sponsoring and attending the FS Expo 2018 in sunny Las Vegas, NV June 9-10. We would be honored if you come join us for a weekend of simming and good times!

We will have a booth showing all the latest Sturmovik products and promoting Sturmovik to a largely civilian-centric sim crowd and showing off what Sturmovik can do. It would be awesome if a large contingent of combat-simmers from the Sturmovik community attended!

While the civvy-crowd putts around looking at scenery we will be shooting down the enemy and blowing stuff up!

Please visit http://www.flightsimexpo.com/ for more information and follow FS Expo 2018 on Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/FlightSimExpo to keep abreast of developments.

We hope to see you there!

No worries just the wording was slightly confusing. It would be really great to meet you guys in person. I hope I can get there.

I am going to make this trip! I'll stay at the Wynn though since my wife is coming with!

That would be cool!

I'm considering whether I'm going to Vegas for the Adobe Summit in March, I wish this was on the same week.

I can't afford to bring 30+ people to Vegas. When I know who can get visas I will let you know.

Not sure if I can make it but I had been thinking about a Vegas trip. See if I can string it together.

Either way, what a fantastic way to get IL-2 in front of a few more people.

Hangover 4: battle of Las Vegas....

This is awesome that you will be showing off our lovely sim to them there civvy pilots. I can see now the further pressures you and the team have to complete tasks at hand.

I won't be able to make it unfortunately, I've always wanted to a flight sim event.

Sadly they are never in Canada, that i know of..

I hope you win their hearts

Good to see you participating in this, should be some nice exposure!

It's only a 26 and half day walk from home according to google, though google also says I'd have to go 11k feet up and back down across the Rockies. I'd have to start walking before this semester ends.

If only I could afford to travel... Be sure to post pictures. I want to see what the booth is like and who all shows up.

Been looking for an excuse to go back to vegas for years. I'm going to try and make this happen. It coincides with the wife's 50th birthday, but just wondering how much shit I will be in when she realises the real purpose of the trip is to say hi to Jason ;)

Well, that would fit in nicely between a week at Lake Garda and another in the wonderfully-named village of Beer. I somehow doubt whether I'd get wifely approval without a lottery win to pay for the flights though...

:(

Wife: "where are we spending our holidays this year?"

Me: "La Vegas, sweetie"

W: "Awesome! I have always wanted to go to the Golden Nugget! play the slots, have a go at roulette etc."

M: "Actually, I am going to play Il2 BoS there"

W:  -_-

Sounds cool - been wanting to go back to Vegas for a while now.  Just gotta figure out how much money it's going to cost me to keep the wife busy at the slot machines while I check out the flight sim booths :)

I was thinking about possibly going to this. Never been to Vegas before and I'd love to try IL2 and other sims in VR. Have to show those Civilian Simmers what's up.

Posted

I hope it goes well.

Hmm...Is T Fusion technically under the1C banner? Maybe get them to join - increase the combat sim footprint at the show...

Posted

Jason is there any chance you might be able to get vive to show off their new VR toy at the event ? It's possible that they may even be willing to lend you a dev kit.

No they can get their own booth if they wish. This announcement is just for Great Battles projects.

Jason

Sorry guys I had the wrong date. It's June 9 and 10. Sorry for the confusion.

I have not committed to showing anything in VR yet.

I've already registered and booked my rooms - I'll be arriving on Thursday before the thing starts and could bring my Rift with me if you want to use it for VR demos.  Just let me know.

I don't need anyone to bring anything, but thanks. The event is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Friday is setup.

I think I am going to attend, but probably stay a couple blocks down at the La Quinta. It's pretty cheap and the rooms are decent. Its only like 2 blocks away as well. I stayed there last year after going out to Kingman, AZ for work to log parts from our mothballed airplanes. Airfare costs me nothing so all my wife and I need is a room and food. Who knows, maybe some of us can grab a few cold ones afterwards and hit the tables! :drinks:

I look forward to meeting some of you out there!

Booked the event, waiting for the wife to make up her mind if she wants a few days in sunny vegas. I have no idea what is taking her so long.

You should really consider having a VR headset there, IL2 BOS is spectacular in VR, well above any other sim, don't waste the opportunity to show it off.

I agree. If you have something that makes your product shine, why not?

I have not even played in VR, but TrackIR alone is enough for me to sing the praises.

Since I'm  technically a resident, I will be there!

WingWalkers were overdue for a reunion for the squad.  The combination of Vegas, BOX being our current favorite sim and Flight Expo was enough convergence to make it sound fun.  Looks like a number of us will be attending.  Thanks for the heads up Jason.

Yes get that Rift on a reporters head. IL2 is left out if every major top 10 VR list. thats crazy. what devs have have done with optimization and attention to VR to this point is astonishing. 90 fps with clouds and other planes with the Kuban landscape is simply the best experience out there.

Although you would need a $3000 pc laying around and a headset going on hundreds of disgusting heads all day. haha.

Yeah but how much new customers could VR attract, once you try it everything else goes in second plan. Also there is a face protection for VR headset.

You're right about il2 not being listed among top 10 VR games, it should be in top 3 claiming first place.

Posted

Actually it will attract lost of new Il2 customers.

I read many people are getting into Il2 , just because VR, so they were VR flight simmers first ,and they tried Il2 in VR and they got hooked.

Oculus forums , you can read about it, Reddit too, and some VR reviews.

I have tried all the major sims in VR, and there is no contest Il2 BOS in VR its in another level.

And since it is a Flight simmers convention, what a better place to show it off and attract customers you wouldn't have attracted otherwise.

Jason,

That´s great to have 1GCS as a platinum sponsor.

In the last 25 years I have been in many international tradeshows and exhibitions in both sides of the booths, as a customer and as a vendor. Honestly, I know quite a bit about products demos of all kind.

Basically you go there to impact the visitors and the press. To do that you need to stand out over the others.

2018 is the true year of VR, if you don´t take this chance it will be a really missed opportunity.

Large TV 4k are nice, but if you want to really impress people allow a couple of proper setups for VR (HOTAS, Seat, pedals, etc), specially the press.

But when I say VR, I am not referring to Rift or Vive, but to VivePro and possibily Pimax 8K.

So,  yes you need a VivePro for the Dev team in Moscow. No problem, next 5th of april I can order one and ship it to Moscow.

You also need a Pimax 8K. No problem, we can talk with the Pimax guys and get one device for your team in Moscow. They will love to be in that exhibition in Las Vegas.

So, if you show VivePro and Pimax8K in las vegas I can guarantee you that many VR press will be in your booth eager to test the IL-2 Great Battles. No doubt.

It is more than two motnhs from now. There is enough time to plan it. Now it is up to you.
