Pail Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 (edited) Tintin and the Red Sea Sharks Am having that image extension not allowed fufu again.... This above is not really what you meant ....and i did have some of those little comics like "Commando" "Air Ace" ( some of which are pretty shocking in their racism..)etc but Tintin was very influential. You gotta love the Lysander shooting down Focke Wulfs Edited January 31, 2018 by Pail

Pail Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 (edited) I've got this book and the other one, about first planes & ww1. I'd never heard of it. I saw the pictures and thought they were a fan art rip off at first....that's why I put them here. i'd like to see the book some time but whether i need to really own it.......my kids don't even appreciate Tintin (we do have the DVDs).....or Asterix. i did get my son Theodor Geisel wartime cartoons book https://www.amazon.com.au/Dr-Seuss-Goes-War-Editorial-ebook/dp/B00EXCAJ8E Every child needs an education in racist cartoons. https://library.ucsd.edu/speccoll/dswenttowar/ Edited February 3, 2018 by Pail
Dakpilot Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Bizarre as it sounds, while a was Stationed in Brazzaville in Congo, at one of the Hotels we stayed at (until proper quarters were found) you could buy a copy of Tintin Au Congo (French language) but more interesting was the possibility of ordering a copy printed with your own name substituting 'Tintin' ( I of course now regret taking up the option ) A year or so later I visited the same hotel with a Russian crew (the 'personal' offer was no longer available) and they were very impressed and amused to see a copy of 'Boris Au Congo' displayed in a case in the lobby Cheers, Dakpilot 1
Pail Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 That's almost enough reason to change your name to Boris....
JG1_Shadepiece Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 These all look excellent! Would love to read through a few.
Cybermat47 Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 This one’s a favourite of mine. Probably because the main character is a Stuka pilot. The psychopathic Bf-109 pilot antagonist is enjoyable as well.

Pail Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 ^^ I like that one. It even shows the wing mounted Brownings on a beaufighter being useful.
