Panthera Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 (edited) As we're soon going to be seeing this aircraft in the upcoming Bodenplatte campaign I think it would be nice with a place to assemble all the Me262 data available I've been looking abit at data relevant to the aerodynamics of the airframe, and so far I've found the following: - take off & landing speed is listed as 180 km/h fully loaded, and 202 km/h fully loaded with bombs - stall speed is listed as 180-200 km/h fully loaded - top speed of 125 serial production aircraft shows an average of 840 km/h @ SL & 870 km/h @ 6 km (Fully loaded aircraft at 7,100 kg) - climb rate of fully loaded (7,100 kg) aircraft is 20 m/s (3,937 ft/min) @ SL - aircraft turns very well at high speed, loses energy much slower in turns than prop fighters - light controls at all speeds until transonic region - max permissable speed is listed as 1,000 km/h From this the Clmax in landing/take off condition (gear & flaps down) is calculated as 2.09, and 1.66 in clean condition (flaps & gear up) at low Mach number. AndyJWest Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 There isn't much point in assembling data unless you say where you got it from.
Panthera Posted January 20, 2018 Author Posted January 20, 2018 (edited) Right, here are some of the sources: http://zenoswarbirdvideos.com/Images/Me262/ME262PILOTDEBRIEF.pdf http://zenoswarbirdvideos.com/Images/Me262/262PilotHandbook.pdf http://i.imgur.com/7pTD4u0.png https://i.imgur.com/pXAfkNu.gif http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.com/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/m/Messerschmitt/Me%20262/Me%20262%20A-1/Me%20262%20A-1%20Bedienvorschrift%20A-2.pdf Edited January 20, 2018 by Panthera
Panthera Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 This might be of interest: Messerschmitt Me 262 U.S PNs & Flight Data.pdf That seems to be the translated version of the German A-2 POH with some slightly altered limitations, probably for safety reasons.
Panthera Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 (edited) Seems logical really that the limitations are kept lower for captured equipment of which only few examples are available. Edited January 23, 2018 by Panthera
