It seems to me no gun recoil modeled, am I right?

This was quite an important feature in the original IL2

Can have a significant effect in climbing fights.

It is modelled, it certainly pushed me into stalls in some turning fights. Bigger, off center guns will throw your aim off (Il-2 37mm for example).

IIRC recoil was overdone in old Il-2, you could move your plane back on the ground just using your guns

It's fully modeled for all aircraft ingame. You'll most likely notice it in aircraft with of centered guns like the La-5 and Ju 87 G-1.

when flying the il2 with the 37mm's and one cannon gets damaged, you feel the recoil quite distinctively when you start shooting your remaining 37mm.

As others have said, it is fully modeled.

You don't experience it as much as in the old IL2, because there the effect was extremely exaggerated, especially when the aircraft was sitting on the ground, which was also a result of the very simplistic ground handling physics of that game.

You can see it modelled in ai aircraft if you throw some together and watch from the external view.

Put the 37mm on the LaGG and it will slow you down when you fire it.

Great. Now I can sleep better :salute:  :)

The first time I heard of someone using the "gun brakes" when landing, I was well and truly stunned.

Fortunately, the sim models recoil accurately enough that gun braking is not actually a thing. Though I think the best way to discourage such "techniques" is to properly simulate the angry commissar bringing you up on sabotage charges. :)

It's modelled. If you fire only the mg151 in a bf109, you will be more accurate and stable than if you fire all guns at once because the blowback of the 151 is through the centreline but the MG's are above and infront of centre of gravity.
