dburne Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 The new version of the software is starting to roll out. https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/61284/rift-si-1-22-rolling-out-now#latest Some pretty good stuff in there.
BFsSmurfy Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Mine just updated I think, where can I view which version it`s running please. Still battling it trying to get it to work correctly, never had so many program freezes and restarts in one day.

On your desktop, somewhere in the settings tab down toward the bottom shows the version number.
BFsSmurfy Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) I`m battling constant lock ups and lock outs where I have to crash it via the power button. Must be the USB3.0 to PCIe driver update as it worked well before and that`s the only hardware change to a PC that worked perfectly before. I`ll try rolling it back, nuisance atm tbh. It says version 1.20.0.474906 but offers no way of updating?? It also states Beta in the bottom left. Edited January 18, 2018 by BFsSmurfy
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Is there a way to postpone the update?

Might want to try going through sensor setup again, or even the full Oculus setup. 1.20 is the release version that will be updating to 1.22. It is a gradual rollout. I am on 1.22 now but have been on the Public Test Channel. Edited January 19, 2018 by dburne

A_radek Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Late to the party so this may be old news.Haven't had any playtime for a few weeks but gave the rift a go yesterday. Jumped on a multiplayer server and framerate was terrible. Maxed out at around 60fps but more often around 45 or below with terrible stutters. Switched server to another but same thing. I have an il-2 icon on my desktop as I rarely use oculus home and don't want to put up with either that or steam loading up and cluttering my desktop. This way a double click is all it takes and I'm in. So fired up oculus home to see what and if anything's porked. Tried switching to the non classic mode in settings and it told me "can't do that" as my graphics drivers were out of date. Updated those to the latest and wen't back online. All fixed! And it's only a hunch but I think framerate has improved compared to the old version of home and nvidia drivers. I can keep hud on and seem to still manage 90fps with dips less frequent than before. Very happy about this.

I too think my performance improved some with the new Oculus software, which I have been running for a few weeks now through the Public Test Channel.
SCG_motoadve Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 It doesnt do well for me, after the latest update I get black screen on my Oculus after I play and its off for a couple of hrs. Only way to get it back to life its a re start.

If you are try going back to previous driver version and see if that helps.
