Changing PWCG Data Files

A quick word about PWCG data files.  I know that people change them, but there are things to be aware of.

1. PWCG will overwrite your changes on every deploy.

2. The structure of any given file may change at any time.  

 

Short version: you're on your own when you make these changes.  I will talk about the data and help you if you want to make a change, but I cannot support the change.  Attempting to do so would make my life impossible.

 

Ideally the change is one that I want to make permanent.  When these come about I do just that.  There are some however (get rid of FW190 over Stalingrad, no ground attack missions for Me109s are examples) that might have good reasons behind them but I'm just not going to do them.  In these situations it is going to be on the player to maintain the modification.

 

So - I'm going to keep trying to give people what they want.  i just need folks to understand the limits of what I can support.
