One thing about the ME that I've found slightly confusing is the Atmospheric Options where winds are concerned.  I know (or at least, believe thus far based on my testing) that the winds don't affect other effects like village smoke and city fires, and as such you have to turn those effects toward the wind direction to make it realistic, but I've started to become a bit confused about the actual wind direction.  In the Atmospheric Options section of the Mission properties, is the wind direction the direction the wind is blowing from, or is it the direction the wind is blowing to?  I'm probably overthinking this, but I want to be sure I have it correct.

Secondly, based upon this question - when I place a windsock, does the sock actually blow with the winds, or is it like village and city smoke and I have to place it specifically to get it waving in the correct direction?

Lastly, under the Atmospheric Options under Temperature and Pressure - what exactly is the Level m: option referring to?  Is this the altitude that the pressure is being measured from?

In atmospheric conditions, the direction is the bearing the wind is blowing TO. If you set a windsock and make it a Linked Entity it should turn with the wind.

    Yes

However, the weather report in the bomb sight gives the direction that the wind is blowing FROM.
