Dakpilot Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I always found that if you set it to normal you are then able to turn on all realism options or turn off all helpers all the way up to get same expert experience It was not that it is not (currently) customisable just that it does not have that name as an option, obviously an easier interface would be optimal but am sure the implementation was available (memory?) the only bad design was lack of info to achieve what was desired as a 'custom' setting (purely relating to settings) anyway am sure the new implementation will not be a backward step, not long to wait, it's all a bit moot now Cheers, Dakpilot
kendo Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) I believe that Jason said the difficulty levels will not be a feature of the new career mode. They were one of the worst consequences of the original decision to include 'unlocks'. Once you have a situation where people need to grind to accumulate points, then you also need to measure and reward those who are flying at higher difficulty levels. Also, the inability to play the campaign at custom difficulty levels was another unfortunate consequence.. It was an appalling decision and one that was universally loathed by the community. easyhomewin Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) Really looking forward to the career mode, i wasn't much good at ROF but i found the career really enjoyable, easy enough 1 v 1 or 2 but 1 v 3 or 4 and it usually ended in death. quick question......are the career modes for Stalingrad and Moscow going to be released at the same time as kuban launches? Feathered_IV Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Those career difficulty presets seem to have been the idea of someone who’s mindset was coloured by multiplayer gameplay. I hope the devs have somebody who really knows what good SP is this time
hames123 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I think they have BlackSix making the missions and career, in which case we are in safe hands. His mission designs are very good, and his campaigns are excellent. Hopefully he can come up with a career that, while not scripted, can be interesting and immersive, with the constant fightint both on the land and in the air.
