Just curious, my performance in VR over Kuban is not as good as Stalingrad, not by a lot but certainly noticeable.

Wondering how you guys with 8700k system are finding it? Are you still able to maintain closer to 90 fps in Kuban with VR?

I will be able to tell you soon, New Mbo, fast memory and a i7 8700 being shipped already, so looking forward to it.

Thanks and congrats, look forward to hearing how it does.

Although Im only a i-6700 @ 4.6Ghz and a 1080, I dont see how anyone is running 90fps over Kuban in the mountains with heavy clouds and sun rays (ie ~45 angle sun).  Give it a go to stress your system to the max. throw 4 bombers in there too

Dynamic Resolution Factor the only way for me.  have to lower it to .7 in such scenario, (which fixes) ... on the rest of the map .8 when engaging bombers in clouds and sunrays

Thanks for the feedback, I have yet to try using the Dynamic Resolution but may give it a whirl on the Kuban Map.

Kuban summer melts my pc.

6700k 4.3

I *feel* other months are friendlier fps wise, but it might be placebo.

Is your 1080 overclocked?

I run mine with 1.8 Resolution factor and its smooth, also have 4 x AA and SS at 1.7, High settings, and my Processor is only an i7 4770 running at 3.8 Ghz

My Zotak GTX 1080 is overclocked, that gives me 10 more fps.

Now if a big battle with smoke and ground units and 10 or so planes are flying around me, I do get sttuters and slowdowns.

I am hoping the i 7 8700 will help there.

I use AWS OFF and forced to 45 FPS

yep. 1080 oc. see my sig. Im 90 fps all times except in scenario above where i have to go .7 DRS. the 8700 should have you crushing IT

i7 4770 running at 3.5 Ghz here with GTX 1080 - running 4K TV with max FPS of 60, running on ULTRA settings, the only time I get noticeable slowdowns is when looking at aircraft against cloud in free camera view, or in my LAA test when I pitted 48 109s against 36 K-61s :).

At 5.0 GHz with the i7-8700k and a GTX 1080 TI, performance is just fine over the mountains (locked at 90 fps in empty mission with clouds). I have noticed it will stutter ever so slightly at times, but I think that's just loading in more model/texture data.

in the same boat with 4.9ghz 8700k and 1080ti..

however you throw in couple of smoking planes and about 4-5 non-smoking and it's dropping to 50-60's..

in general it's a bit better than 6700k i had before.. but not by much..

What surprised me about Kuban is that I had lower FPS over the sea than over land. Especially when I was looking at the sun reflection in the water (which is very nice BTW). I haven't had a chance to play in quite a few weeks so not sure if this is still the case but no updates were released since then so I think yes.

I am seeing a dramatic difference from my 6700. I have the 8700 OC to the now standard 5ghz and I am using 3000mhzDDR4 with the Titan Pascal.

What I noticed with my testing in quick mission is the visual effects are robust whereas before they would be watered down and objects depending on what camera view you were using would disappear to avoid drastic frame rate dips. Now all the objects remain on screen and I can even use complex mirrors and get dips in the 60fps(lowest) range from 90 (ASW off/rift).

All other settings are maxed except AA is off.

During campaign missions with heavy AI scripting I do see more hits to the FPS but no where near as bad with the 6700 which was clocked at 4.7Ghz.

Ok now I can report, new Win 10 install solved initial slow performance

i7 7800 running at 4.9 MHz

GTX 1080

16 planes over Kuban, heavy clouds

smooth as glass ASW off forced at 45

Not a single mini pause.

Graphics on Ultra

Everything maxxed out

Dynamic Res off

SS 1.8

HDR off

SSAO off

Looks and works very good.

So yes a faster processor helps with VR and FPS big time.

Wait, so you're running it at 45fps with that machine? That's pretty sad news then...

Runs at 45FPS with Ultra settings , No dynamic resolution, 4x AA. SS2.0.

Looks as good as it can look and its smooth.

When I try 90fps only difference I see is that it is a bit sttutery when moving my head.

But I don't see any other difference.
