GP* Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 I'm looking to install either Windows 7 or Windows 10 on my iMac to have a second machine to run IL2 (and other games) on. I've always liked Windows 7, and don't like the general layout of the newer-age windows, but is there any significant / compelling reason why I should get Windows 10 over 7? I'm sure DX could be an issue, but games I'm currently playing don't require it, and I don't plan on using the iMac as my primary gaming device. Thanks.
Warpig Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Windows 7 is only supported until 2020. Might as well just get used to Windows 10. I personally did not want to switch to Windows 10 either. I thought Windows 7 was the perfect OS. But I can truthfully say that when you get used to where all your old settings are at, Windows 10 isn't bad at all. It's nothing like the horrible Windows 8 experience was.
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Use 10. It is more responsive on my Apple devices. Most of the irritating 'features' can be hidden. Unless something in Windows 10 truly goes against your principles, it makes more sense to get the modern OS.
