How to attach a mission file

Excuse me, I'm new to this forum and my question is definitely very stupid.
I have problems developing a mission and I intend to attach the mission file to a post for help.
After writing the post text I go to attach file, I insert the compressed file (.7zip or .rar), but I am told:
- Error You are not allowed to upload this kind of file.
What is the problem and where can I find the list of files that can be attached?

Thank you Jade. I have downloaded a file converter to produce .zip files from 7zip.

But I would like to ask the administrators of this site to allow the upload of files with 7zip which is a free program, unlike, I think, zip and rar that are for a fee...

In Windows you can just select the files you want to zip, right click -> Send to ->  "Compressed (zipped) document" to create ZIP files.
