Blitzen Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 (edited) This is probably a self -inflicted wound ...but....recently I installed CH rudder pedals & all went well, but yesterday at game start I was given several choices for joystick install. It appeared as if my default was the KB Gladiator joy stick so I didn’t do anything. In game play nothing involving the joystick worked.I checked keystrokes in Controls & found all my choices were still there but just wouldn’t work until or unless I re-entered them. This is quite a task...is there any easier way to get them back up & working in my VR Steam install? Thanks! Edited January 6, 2018 by Blitzen
dburne Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Sounds like your controller id for the stick got changed when you hooked up the pedals. Not much you can do on that I don't think, hopefully it won't happen again.
Sokol1 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 (edited) Momentarily assign joy trigger (button 0 or 1) for some not used command and take note of joystick ID, if Joystick1, Joystick2... or name if used - e.g. VKB Gladiator..., but don't hit OK button, is just for see the new ID, then cancel. Open the file current.actions (in game folder) with Notepad and replace the previous ID (look in the file fo the name) with this new ID. In a minute all buttons are work again. I come up with Joy6 (!!!!) Wierd !My CH Rudder pedals that still work are in Joy2...Do you think I should still do as you recommend? Found Current.Actions file easily enough but even using "find next" utility I couldn't locate "ID" in order to change. Edited January 7, 2018 by Blitzen
Sokol1 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 The new "ID" for your joystick in 'Current.Actions" file is thi Joy6_ So in Notepad, in Replace (Ctrl+H) box type: Joy#_ Joy6_ Replace this "Joy# " with the actual joystick number - that no longer work, e.g. Joy1_ Then hit "Replace all" or do one by one.
