Bilbo_Baggins Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Hey gents, Buy cheap you buy twice, however in my experience Logitech has been an exception to this rule. Alas, extremely disappointed with the Logitech 3ds and I hope this is a warning for other prospective purchasers out there. I used the 3d pro for a few years and it has been a trusty steed for the most part. However after relocating and purchasing a new one it's been headache almost right from the purchase. I thought I must have got unlucky as there are so many positive experiences and ratings for it out there, so I just went and got a another replacement. Within a week this time, same problem- rudder axis spiking to all hell when moving the stick sideways with a rudder input at the same time. Took it apart and found it has a different circuit board and slightly different electronics to the old one I had. This one is green, the old one was brown. Wiring slightly different too. What I'm guessing is that Logitech has absolutely destroyed the reliability of these sticks with some sort of cost cutting measure inside these sticks. 2 sticks failing almost straight away is unacceptable and I've definitely got to look elsewhere now. Looks like the only simple sticks available for me here are: Thrustmaster Tflight X Thrustmaster T1600000 Would appreciate if I could have some pointers from you gents on which is the better option. Same price sticks from thrustmaster which I find odd. Would just like the stick which doesn't spike uncontrollably and can give a simple roll, pitch, twist with throttle. Cheers mcdaddy
KoN_ Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 (edited) 16000m Or the vkb I think is on Amazon . What's your price range Edited January 6, 2018 by II./JG77_Con
Thad Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 For the price, I don't think you can beat a T16000m joystick.
Scottvdken Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Both sets are well built, good quality and fly really smooth. Shouldn't give you any problems. However I would go with the T16000m HOTAS - Thrustmaster decided to link the X together with a cable that is not all that long, while T16000m is separate. Also less buttons on the X.
Sokol1 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 (edited) T-Flight X use cheap potentiometers like Logitech 3D PRO, so is exchange 6 for half dozen. T.16000M use contactless sensor (HALL) in X, Y axis, but the same cheap potentiometer of the above, in throttle and twist axis. VKB Gladiator Mk.II use contactless sensor (MaRS) in X, Y and twist (Z) axis, but the same cheap' pot in throttle and cost more than T.16000M (besides by difficult find available), but besides has only 3 buttons on grip (semi replica of KG-12A) has better functionality than other "entry-level" sticks due "shift" and "mode" buttons. Birdman Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 The T16000m is a good option but (all jokes aside) it has needed frequent greasing, something I never had to do with my old hotas X (that I used for 4 years)
