BP_Lizard Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Salute! I’m planning to order a VPC MongoosT-50 Flightstick from their website. I see that one of the payment options is by Secure Card Payment via ASSIST. I plan to use this payment but am not familiar with it. So, anybody from the States who has recently ordered from VirPil used this method? Any issue or was it pretty hassle-free? Did you have to pay extra custom/duties upon receipt? And how long did it take to receive the package? Lots of questions there so thank you very much in advance.
dburne Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I ordered my Virpil setup and paid via Credit Card, not sure if it was by ASSIST or not as I can not recall, but I had no trouble paying via credit card. I am in the States, and did not have any extra customs or duties upon receipt, I got everything for what I paid on the CC. I was in the first batches so my delivery date was out there some, as I had ordered early on when they were starting the production process, plus they had a little delay at that time as well. Based on some feedback I have seen recently, avg time seems to be around couple weeks to ship plus transit, so I would plan on around 3+ weeks. I definitely love my Virpil setup, have logged quite a number of hours in it now and it is fantastic.
Archie Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 (edited) Although I'm not in the States I ordered recently and time to dispatch from Belarus is currently 14 working/business days, and then obviously it's in the hands of the post services! Prices on the site are without any local taxes/customs charges, but include shipping once you put your destination in. I expect to get hit with 20% tax plus a small charge for customs on top of the purchase cost... Edited January 3, 2018 by Archie
No_85_Gramps Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I paid via credit card also without any issues. From date of order to delivery here in Virginia was 43 days. Item was posted within the 10-14 working day time frame, per Virpil's website, then it was the long trip through the postal systems, and during the holidays too. Once my order reached postal customs in NY I had it in 3 days. It's just that long trip across the pond. I absolutely love the T-50 Mongoose, well worth the wait!
BP_Lizard Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 Awesome! Good to hear that. Gramps: Was yours a preorder? Their site shows that they’re in stock. Did yours take 43 days even if they were in stock?
No_85_Gramps Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 No it was not a preorder. I know it says "in stock", but further down the page it will tell you 10 to 14 working days to process and actually ship. I really do think that is their actual processing time frame. From other posts I've gathered that they are really busy getting units shipped. If you don't mind the wait you will not be disappointed.

Any additional customs expenses you had to pay in the US? Mine should be delivered soon (tracking option doesnt work after it leaves Belarus). I ordered the CM version, im very excited!
BP_Lizard Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 dburne mentioned that he didn’t pay any upon receipt, Jade_Monkey. That’s good to know. When did you put in your order? I remember paying around $30 when I imported a set of brakes from Italy. Sucked.
No_85_Gramps Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 No customs duty here in the US. The tracking should work, it's just "lost in space" between Belarus and the US. There is an online US Customs site where you can look up import duties for just about anything. Joysticks, and similar computer items, are duty free.
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Mine hit customs duty on December 30 and I presume I will have to pay something as well. It's not like I already work for my state 48 % of the year.
BP_Lizard Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 Just pulled the trigger. Now the waiting game begins. Mine hit customs duty on December 30 and I presume I will have to pay something as well. It's not like I already work for my state 48 % of the year. That sucks. Are you in the States, Hiromachi?
dburne Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Just pulled the trigger. Now the waiting game begins. Congrats, you are in for a treat!
