Dave_America Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Hi All, I want to map my throttle to an axis, but I seem to be having trouble. I'm using UCR and JoystickGremlin, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to use the Hat Up / Hat Down, and combining the buttons as an axis. I've gotten it to partially work but all I get is full throttle on or off. My guess is because the axis output is full or off, it doesn't go up in increments. Any ideas?
unreasonable Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 You are not actually mapping to an axis, but as two buttons. In the settings/engine controls you can see that there is a button option for throttle, namely "minus/equals". Ie one will increment up, the other down. Short button presses move the throttle a little, if you press and hold the effect is continuous. I assume that is the effect you want. It works with these buttons. If you are getting an all or nothing response using hat buttons mapped to that line in "engine controls" my guess would be that the when the button is depressed the signals are being sent are far too quickly. I know nothing about UCR or JoystickGremlin but can that be customized?
Dave_America Posted January 5, 2018 Author Posted January 5, 2018 So I tried mapping directly using hat up and down but what happens is if I quickly push down (being already set to full throttle) I’m able to do it three times before the throttle goes automatically back to full. Same in the opposite direction. Then I lose control altogether for a few moments.
Dave_America Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Looks like it was my server settings, and having auto throttle on. I was able to set my hat buttons on 10% increments and all works great now! 1
