Sokol1 Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) First VKB throttle, "jet" oriented, announced - front and back modules optional. http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=26&p=28553#p28553 "We estimate the price range for the main TECS base somewhere about US$ 200, and the extension panels – about 40 galactic credits. Now, the question is WHEN?! – stay tuned!" Edited January 1, 2018 by Sokol1 1
Archie Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 (edited) Wow! So many cool controls coming out. Edited January 1, 2018 by Archie
Matt Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Kind of dubious price. Not just for the base, as well as the additional panels (same price as their Warthog adapter for instance). But yes, it looks really nice. I guess i'll stick to the Warthog throttle a bit longer after all and will wait how and when this will get released and how their WW2 throttle will look like. 1
Jade_Monkey Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Looks cool but many of those controls seem pretty useless for BOS. Are those switches ON-OFF-ON or ON-ON? I would like to not use any programming software at all. After using the Saitek one I'm done. Kind of dubious price. Completely agree. My guess it will actually end up costing closer to $350.
Marrond Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 (edited) I would love to but VKB has such abysmal production rate and awful presence in EU I highly doubt it will ever be in stock when I have money to spare... I still can't get my hands on Gunfighter for Christ's sake... at this point I'm starting to seriously think about going with Virpil. Edited January 1, 2018 by Marrond
Klaue Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 (edited) Very nice setup, would like to have.Would go very nice with my P-38. Edited January 1, 2018 by Klaue
1CGS LukeFF Posted January 2, 2018 1CGS Posted January 2, 2018 Vintage throttle... !!! Where was that posted? Cannot find it on the VKB forums.
ram0506 Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 !!! Where was that posted? Cannot find it on the VKB forums. I found a post (of a VKB-member) in the DCS forums: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3342826&postcount=65 1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) Looking nice but as the Gladiator has shown clearly there's a difference between a render and what in the end is delivered. Watching that vintage thottle with interest. Edit: A strange design choice is that the throttle lever is placed on the far right side (traditional setup is throttle lever on far left side, everything else right to it). Looks quite counterintuitive for a lefthand-throttle setup. Edited January 2, 2018 by 6./ZG26_5tuka
Matt Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) So much for this comment: We see no point in overloading the surface with as many control knobs and switches as possible – it would likely make flying less handy and controlling the plane would become trickier. The WW2 throttle almost has too many controls for me. I think i'll go with the MCG + TECS. Of course those controls don't quite fit the WW2 style, but i kind of prefer that to something like the Gladiator in combination with the WW2 throttle render. But i'll keep watching. Maybe VPC comes up with a WW2 throttle of their own. Edited January 2, 2018 by Matt

I would like to not use any programming software at all. After using the Saitek one I'm done. VKB don't use software running in game background (TARGET, Manager, SST... with their "collateral effects" for make 'joystick buttons press keyboards keys') for define what a buttons/switches will do. But set the button (called "line") behavior in controller firmware - their NJoy32 controller handle 128 'lines'. So you define for each 'line' - physical button on controller how is their behavior, could be a simple "momentary action" (equals press a key in keyboard) like all buttons in other brands joy/throttle - exception for that latching ON-OF, ON-OFF-ON switches on Warthog throttle base and "slider" switch in Cougar throttle (2) and in some Saitek throttles. That "line" can press and hold a button in the first press, and released in the second (ON-OFF). Can press a 2nd (virtual) button if pressed fast and a 3rd if pressed and hold (Tempo), E.g "click" in the button fire rockets, "press and hold" drop bombs. Can be a modifier for other buttons/axes behavior. ... And even can press keyboard keys (macros) - old games has limited buttons support, following Windows limitation: 32 DX buttons, so keyboard emulation became necessary for use more buttons. Bo'X support up to 64 DX buttons, DCSW up to 68 DX buttons - this buttons don't need be visible in Windows Games controllers. You can create different profiles for buttons and load then when need. SJ_Butcher Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Nice... I just want a throttle that match the gladiator mk2 style and I am sold
ShamrockOneFive Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Thanks for sharing Sokol. Both the TECS official release and the unofficial release of the vintage WWII model are interesting to me. I think I'd probably lean towards the TECS because of that dual throttle system which sounds handy when flying jets and props with twin engines. Also it looks better. I'm seriously thinking my long term plan would be to upgraded to the MCG with the new twist axis option in the future.
Matt Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 What worries me, is the size of the throttle. Throttle travel is around 11 cm. Based on that, i would guess the whole length of the throttle quadrant would be around 16 cm, width maybe 10 cm. That would even be less than the size of the Gladiator base for instance. That's really small.

Is said that the base (of central module, or maybe plus the back module?) has same same size and bolt (screw) pattern of Warthog throttle base - a wise market decision, face the support plates/game chair compatible with this Wart' throttle.
Drum Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I W A N T O N E ! ! ! Make that two if the brake easily, but just don't keep me waiting. ;-)
LLv24_SukkaVR Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Looks great. Wonder if i can attach it to my wheel stand pro? Problem is that i usually fold my wheel stand pro super warthog stand and put it in my closet when i dont use it, and because of that the front extension should be easy to remove and install. Looks like it needs to be screwed but maybe its just early concept photo.
Sokol1 Posted January 5, 2018 Author Posted January 5, 2018 Someone discover what is "hidden" in labels? "If you read Russian, you might like studying these prints now: there might be something you wouldn't expect to see." Seems related wit the labels: "ЧИТЫ" <<<< Cheats? "АВТОВЗЛЁТ <<<< Auto take-off? "ЛОПАТА" <<<< Shovel? And that "40 galactic credits". <<<< Star Citizen???
