Hi,

After some time not playing the game, I have reinstalled and wanted to try it. I play all games I can with 3D Vision, and I remember testing BOS with Helixmod patch which was awesome at that time (although still with some limitations). Now with 2.012d version of BOS I have tried it but I have some problems:

1- There is double image when moving the mouse (so, the view, internal or external). This double image when MOVING the view, is not 3dvision ghosting neither the in-game blur effect. And is unbearable. Please note that I have disabled Cinematic effect in settings menu, and also SSAO. But this defect is there even with SSAO and Cinematic effect turned on.

2-I have then tried also the last version of Helixmod patch (done for version 2.012), but the game seems not to take it into account, except that it crashes just before enter the mission...

Please, are there some people using 3D Vision with 2.012d? If so, please could you share how do you do it? I'm lost. I have uninstalled and reinstalled game + online update, but no success at all...

Thanks!

Hello, even if I did play more in VR than in 3dvision, I can confirm you that all is near perfect now for 3dvision, except that separation can not be modified as much as before, so pop up effect are no more possible yet.

as the game is now in dx11, Helix mod is not working anymore.

I still provide a mod for both 3dvision and VR, not to fix problems, but to give some enhancement (sight easier to use, label/icon masking,...) https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/30556-3dmigoto-mod-vr/

It will not solve the problem you have, I did not read something like that elsewhere in the forum...maybe could you try to set vsync on ?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

First of all, when I said Helixmod, I forgot to say that I have also tested the 3DMigoto found also in Helixmod page, which states that it is for 2.012 version (so DX11) and which I see is your mod (the one you linked to in your reply).

The 'double image' when moving view is still there regardless V-sync, Fullscreen on/off or other setting.

Something must be wrong, before reinstall I could use your mod, but it seems it didn't work: I had no access to the u, shft+u, k or any other hotkey. Now, after game reinstall if I install your mod, then the games crashes just before starting the mission...

Without your mod, I see the separation or convergence are strange, maybe too exaggerate separation effect at 50% separation...(check I-16) it is hard to have a clean 3D. I have in-game VR setting checked.

BTW, of your mod, if not using VR, should I only install the IL2BOS part it isn't (and NOT the STEAMVR part)? I install the game non-steam (installer from my IL2BOS  account)

This is driving me mad...

[EDIT: BTW the lost pop-up effect is a real, real pity, that, linked with the hotkeys was one of the best things...]

Hi. I have captured three videos with Geforce Experience (shadowplay) and reduced them to 480p and uploaded to dropbox to show the problem:

1. This is with stereo activated in Nvidia CP and in game too (with Ctrl+T). You can see the defect in 3D, it is very obvious and annoying.
PLEASE NOTE that in order to see the defect this video MUST BE SEEN IN 3D, in Nvidia 3D Vision Player (http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/41675/en-us) or Stereoscopic Player (http://3dtv.at/Products/Player/Index_en.aspx).

2. This is with stereo completely disabled in Nvidia CP.

3. And this is with stereo activated in Nvidia CP BUT disabled in the game (using Ctrl+T). For some reason ShadowPlay captured it as in 3D but both frames/eyes show the same (so no 3D effect).

If you can download them and check, I think they will show much better the problem.

I hope we can find the problem as I am out of ideas to test...and people seem not to complain (?) -neither to confirm it works fine for them...-, so I guess it should work fine somehow.

Thank you!

Did you comment the line StereoProfile = 1 in d3dx.ini ? Are you able to save your 3dvision setting for il2 bos ?

Did you try disabling shadowplay ?

Odd. I haven't seen your video yet but mine won't run in 3d mode right now. I get a message in big red letters a cross the screen about running in a non 3d mode. My other software is working normally so I assumed it was a driver issue or something on my end. Info provided just in case there are others experiencing this issue. Edit: the game runs normally in surround and on the HTC vive. Also 3d was working normally on this version prior to at least two driver updates ago... Which is why I assumed it was a driver issue.

Hi, I try to answer everybody.

I have TrackIR5, but I did the video only with mouse to be quicker as the problem is there also when using TrackIR. And to be sure I have just tested it another time with TrackIR. I confirm that the problem do not change at all using TrackIR or mouse only.

lefuneste, I can't use your mod, as reported, when I activate it (through OvGME), the game crashes just before showing the cockpit and environment, a couple of screenshots to show it:

Even so, I have installed your mod (3migoto_VR_4.1) and modified the d3dx.ini as you suggested (commenting the 'StereoProfile' line), but the game crashes anyway so I can't check if that would change anything.

I tried disabling ShadowPlay (in fact I had never used it before these videos, I did not have even Geforce Experience installed), also I have shut down CAM software and windows Game Mode/overlay, but nothing changes.

More info:

I have cleaned with DDU all nvidia drivers and reinstalled last ones. The problem is still there.

Some things I have observed that may be a clue (or maybe not!):

- In the menu views I can see the mouse cursor leaving a trail (a second cursor) behind and following the first cursor when I move it. The trail image collapse with the first image when I stop cursor movement. This seems the same problem than in game.

- In the hangar view, i.e. when in the main menu and the camera is rotating around the plane, I do not see the trail image defect that I see in-game (except for the cursor, as explained).

- I have discovered that if I disable completely the antialiasing in-game option (so I set it in 'Off' when normally is at '4') and restart game, then the hangar view renders the plane (of course we speak always in 3D Vision mode) with the trail defect!!. I have checked and set back in-game AA to 4 and restart the game, then it makes the plane in hangar to render perfectly, without trail, etc... I have tested the game (mission) another time with AA off and at '4' but nothing changes, the defect is there.

In some way it seems related to AA... Why it affects the menu plane, and not the game? Should I create some nvidia profile for it? Maybe you do use some profile in nvidia inspector that you could share...
