Kill the P-109!

Some people just don't care what they're shooting at...

I find when flying a p40, the 'white wave' skin is basically asking for it, not that I'm trying to victim blame or anything. Just an observation that it (that skin) seems to completely guarantee someone will be convinced you're a 109 at some stage in the flight.

Hahaha well done!

Here is is why that Yak deserved it:

  1. For shooting at friendlies and not checking once he got close
  2. For sucking at it and not being able to get a hit despite being able to dance around the P40

Hmm. I see your point but I don't think it helps to shoot back. That would only confirm in his pea-brain that you are the enemy.

After two unsuccessful passes, I don't think they were going to figure it out.

My guess is that they were blinded by the prospect of getting a kill.

It is a server related problem, in servers with a purpose and real penalties people take a little bit more causion and take a little bit more time identify enemy before shooting. And that is really all you need, a little more effort.

I saw in the previous DD that there was an option to "return friendly fire" in the Coop settings.

I'm assuming that you sustain the same amount of damage that you inflict on your teammates?

The same setting exists for dedicated servers already.

Description of that setting says: "If you hit a friendly the damage will be applied to your plane instead."

Cheers!

Why the hell isn't this on by default?

I get shot down in the P40 at least once per game by friendly fire.

People being incredulous about 'realism' whilst flying on a server with GPS

The GPS on WoL really bites.  Don't know why they have it on.

Your comment doesn't make sense - having damage reflected would hardly be a "realism" feature. Being sick of constant ridiculous friendly fire (ie being fired upon at close range by friendlies who can clearly see you are not opfor) shouldn't discount me from tolerating a noob-aid that keeps the server full. If anything this setting enabled is a noob teacher and has the added benefit of defeating deliberate team killers.

I dont like GPS either but the server admins enable it for "gameplay" because it makes the game more accessible. It should be clear from the fact that Australians bother to play multiplayer at all given our best ping is about 350 that beggars can't be choosers. Not everyone can live somewhere close to alternatives.
