Graphics Error and Frequent Cut-out to Desktop when Loading Missions

Hi:

I am having two issues, which may be (likely) related, and would appreciate any insight to address them.

First, I am able to load the game without any issue, go through the config menu, select a mission, but then when the mission has loaded and its time for the flying to begin, there is a clicking noise, and all of a sudden I'm looking at my desktop.  The CoD icon is apparent on the bottom of Windows and I can click on it to reenter the game (set to full screen mode), and can play from there (i.e. the game is still running in the background). This happens nearly every (but not every) time I load a mission (generally combat quick missions). I just then click on the CoD icon, reenter the game, and play on.

Second, when I am actually flying, there is always a large white rectangle in the upper left of the screen that does not display any of the game - its like a cutout. The rest of the screen displays the game as expected, and runs it smoothly, to boot. Its just this one section, always the same, always a rectangle on the left of the screen, that is blank.

Please let me know if there are any steps I can take to address these issues. Thanks.

FWIW, my system is Windows 10 Home, fully updated. i3-6100,  MSI h110m Gaming MB, 16 gb DDR4-2400, 1060 6gb, Trackir 5, Saitek X45. I have disabled the Steam overlay, the GeForce Experience, and dont have any programs other than TrackIR running in the background that I am aware of.

Hello jberar

Your first problem is a System/Windows issue on your own computer... either you have mapped a control key which also duplicates a windows control, or there is some other linkage between desktop control and the game which is dropping you to desktop.

The second problem is not a problem... the blank square you are seeing is a feature of the game.

The Square can be set to transparent, or deleted and is normally used to display engine functions, prop pitch, radiator settings, etc.

Right click on the screen and 'Open New Window', then you can either delete the first one or adjust it, again by right clicking on it... add the features I mention above... but to start you need to right click and open a new window first.

You can move the window around and increase/decrease the size.  And as I mentioned, you can adjust the transparency.

Or you can delete completely.... and have no windows.... or open multiple windows.

Thank you for the quick reply Buzzsaw.

You are Correct!  I was able to delete the window. I read the FAQ/tutorial, and watched the youtube vid, and now understand how the in game windows work. Thank you.

As far as the first reported issue, quitting to the desktop, I seem to have corrected this by selecting Pseudo full screen.

Again, thanks for your assistance. I appreciate your help.
