Quick Mission Online

Why isnt it possible to set up a battle like in Quick Mission, but online ? 
I get tired of having to look for enemies online, for 30 minutes, and then being shot off by some Ace, out of nowhere. Or just, generally, having to fly 15-30 minutes just to be able to see someone. 
I wish you could just setup a quick match, 8 players each team at maximum, you know, the same exact settings in single player quick mission, but in multiplayer. 

And then you could get 8 planes facing each other directly and get into an intense dogfight. I just dont understand why this option is not available. It wpuld add so much to the game especially for newcomers.
