109 bail out

HI, I'm finding it impossible to get out of the 109,  i cut back to throttle but when i try to open the canopy the catch only moves half way, I have select two buttons on my stick one to open cockpit and the other for bail out.

 

I was under the impression that a 109's canopy was discarded with explosive bolts as in BoS, I have no problem bailing out of either British fighters, could it may be a speed factor with the pilot unable to

 

lift and open the cockpit hatch ?

Try turning inverted?

Options > Controls > General > Jettison Canopy  - not sure but think default key is Ctrl+J.

 

This Jettison Canopy is required for bail out in some planes besides BF 109 - including G.50, don't ask why.

 

Others like Spit, Hurri, Beau just need open the canopy - Jettison work for Hurri, but not for Spit.

In Beau despite the Jettison of right side window panel for bail out is need open the hatch behind the pilot (Open canopy command).
