Flitgun Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 $49 USD is not cheap for one replacement headphone. I broke one the other day - I must have been somewhat over enthusiastic to get my VR on and by forcing the set onto my head I wrenched that little screw out of its' plastic thread housing. It still worked, but the headphone dangled awkwardly beside my ear. An hour in the garage and.... well it won't break off again! 1
Flitgun Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Ha! Well, I thought it was a cool story.
PatrickAWlson Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 So did I - I ordered the Rift today with the price down to $350. I was told you could remove the headphones and use your own.
Flitgun Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 You can remove the Rift headphones, but the Rift headphones are actually rather good. I'm glad I don't need to use additional headphones. Congrats on your VR purchase - exciting.

Congrats on your VR purchase - exciting. Yep I found the same, I have a set of Senheisser headphones I was using prior to the Rift, and found the Rift to be just as good so I just use it for convenience sake.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 I have a g633 headset, and its sound is vastly superior to the Rift headsets. The G633 has 7.1 sound, and a properly functioning equalizer, so i can tune in to music of proper quality while flying. And pulling the trigger through both stages on the FW 190 with 2 MGs and 4 Kanonen almost blasts your ears off.
