Tom_Weiss Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I am going to start this weekend on the P-40 template I set up both IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow I have the viewer as link and I can see the default skins but I have a few questions I placed a test skin in ...:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\P40E1\test but it does not show in game nor does the viewer show it so it seems that that is not the correct place to put them. Q does the viewer only view default skins ? the default skins - where can I find them so that I can browse them in Photoshop ? I have to save in BMP ? not in DDS ? the BMP has an alpha channel - so that is as in all other skins, is this correct ? is there a specular file I can add ? the folder with the skin - do I have to name the file in a specific way ?
PatCartier Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Do not place your skin in a test folder but in P40E1.
Tom_Weiss Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) I placed it in D:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\P40E1 with both .dds and .bmp versions, to be sure one loaded I added another I downloaded and neither shows up in game or in the viewer Edited December 23, 2017 by LOFTom_Weiss
szelljr Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 ...What size is your DDS?? ,the correct size is 5.592 mb(2K),or 22.369 mb.(4K)...
Tom_Weiss Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 I found the problem - I added it inside a folder like in P3D when the correct way to do it is to add the dds in the root folder before I start - is reflections an alpha layer only or is there a specular one as well ?
