ATAG_Lewis Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 (edited) Independent programs for the original IL-2 series Here are some downloadable books and programs that can help an individual learn more about the original IL-2 flight sim. Although these are old now and probably known by most there might still be something here you haven't seen before and still are often at least a jolly good read... None of these are my own work however they are all hosted by me to make it easier to find and avoid deleted links. The pictures you see are all taken from the specific documents and programs to give you an idea of whats in them.... I hope you find something new to you here....and if not then at least some entertaining reading.... Be aware that at best these are upto 4.09. As far as I am aware none of these are copyrighted material so can be readily shared. ...lew... ============================================ InPursuit (PDF) A Pilot??? JV44Svejk Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Excellent post. If you could get 'RAF Gunnery Deflection Manual 1943' that would be great.

Sokol1 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) BombersCalc for IL-2 (Alpha version) Tool for calculate drop angle for level bombing, in "HUD" format, with more parameters and flexible than Bombsite Table II. Optional "navegation" window for Dead Recknonig. http://chobi.net/~kuentai/index.php?page=page3236 Dont work in CloD due overlay issue, but apear and work over menu (hit ESC) - so is more acessible than Loft Assitent from ATAG Utils. Sokol1 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 For simulation IAS > TAS conversion are some software available: Bombsite Table 2 Shturman BombersCalc And various Androide apps, like Drop the Bomb. But if one are "grognard" why not use a real WWII era "Flight Computer", like E6-B? In X-Plane forum are printable templates to assemble one, adapted to flight simulation: Register to download (BTW - student versions of real E6-B ae cheap in eBay). http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=18091 In IL-2 series you can use to convert IAS to TAS, calclate ETA... And believed, they are more practical and easy to use that above softs. Sokol1
Skoshi_Tiger Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Sad, I know! The real problem is geting an accurate OAT reading to do the calculation. We NEED a sim that gives us a working Thermometer! Edited January 17, 2013 by Skoshi_Tiger
