I think the game is officially known as IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles Series now, so “IL-2 GBS”?

Hi Raptor,

 

I feel cheeky for asking but my patriotic nature always wanted a Spitfire with a vintage Union Jack flag theme. Completely unrealistic, more like a racing skin, remember the old British airways Union Jack on the tail fins, possibly a ruffling flag instead of a countries icon on the tail. The more British the better!!

 

I'm not sure how much work this involves, probably a lot. No sweat if its too difficult or time consuming you've given more than enough already.

Would be tricky though, to make all the red and white stripes meet, between wings and fuselage top - the sides might look problematic.

In between tho' there'll be flying BoX  whilst sipping whiskey!

Haha! I started working on a "Spit Mk.V Union Jack" - but then I realised I cannot go any further, cause I do not have the Spitfire in my BoS.

Without testing it would be guesswork. A pity - it was fun! Here's how far I got...

Which one? The top one is something I knocked up with images from 'certain other games' and is an La7 with a skin made up by yours truly.

Yeah I was talking about the top one!    I was confused because I initially thought it was from our sim but then I was like wait what aircraft is it, it has the nose of the La5 (with weird gun placement) and the canopy of the La5FN and two air ducts on the wing roots.

You're spot on. Like I said, it's an La7 (White 14) flown by Alelukhin Aleksey Vasilievich. He flew it in his last sortie as Captain of the Guards over Berlin in 1945.
