map keys to specific throttle/rpm settings

I would like to have the ability to map keys to specific(user changeable) settings for throttle and rpm.  Real pilots and some sim pilots using full throttle setups can benefit from "muscle memory" where you get used to moving the control to a very specific position so often that your brain memorizes the exact position by feel without looking at it.  Having to check throttle and rpm settings constantly causes a loss of situational awareness.  I believe adding these commands will help bridge the gap between players with and without throttle and rpm axis controls and ultimately can add to the realism.
