Why do the controls reset themselves?

I really like this Sim, but there's one thing that keeps driving me mad about it. I have to keep re mapping my controls every time I play another game. I have a CH Quadrant and a TM hotas joystick which I use for this Sim. However, some of my other games require me to disable both these controls  because they interfere with my other game if not. The problem is each time I disable them and then switch them back on to play  IL2, I have lost the config and have to remap them all again. This doesn't happen in other games like DCS World, where it picks up the config as soon as I make the controls active again. So why is it happening in this game? I cannot keep me CH quadrant enabled all the time because I already mentioned it causes problems to games like Fifa 2013 ect where I use a joypad for that game. Any advice that helps would be great because this is doing my head in to put it bluntly.

What do you mean by "disable"?  Do you unplug them?  Do you enable them after you restart BoS, or after you are already in the game?

I have my CH Quadrant plugged into a none powered hub that has switches you can turn on and off. I turn the switch off when I am about to play Fifa or some other game and back on when I am about to play this Sim. I have also just tried disabling it in a program called USBDeview, but unfortunately nothing I've tried seems to work.

I know that Windows seems to do some odd things to devices when it goes into sleep mode, but that does not sound the same as your problem.  I sometimes have to unplug/plug devices to get the game to recognize them again, but that also does not sound like your problem.  Sorry I could not help...
