How long does it take to see the updated name displayed in game after changing The profile name on the IL2 website ?

It usually just takes a restart of the client for me. I guess time COULD vary though...

Seconds at most, but you have to start the game fresh after that.

It has always been instant for me. Just exit the game (and launcher), change your name on the site and log back in and It is done.

Nope, Steam is an entirely standalone account service when compared to IL-2's account management system.

 

Steam provides a method to download the game client - 777/1CGS' servers handle DRM and IL-2 user accounts/account names.

If it hasn't rolled over on its own after 24 hours that would be my suggestion as well.

Well I checked when I got home, name hasn't changed. Submit a ticket, launch the game, name has changed. Sorry support I had good intentions I swear

I've been experiencing the same issue that the OP reported: my in game profile name won't change (for 2 weeks now) despite the name changing instantly on the website and forum when I tried to update it. I'm also using the steam version of the game (though this may not matter). I've tried a few times and still stuck in the same situation, and haven't received anything from tech support. I've tried ensuring I'm running the game as administrator, tried uninstalling and reinstalling on steam, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced the same problem, or have any ideas? I didn't really intend to try multiplayer when I bought the game and didn't care what I put in as the profile name - I may be stuck with my appalling piloting skills, but it would be nice to at least be able to update my name.

I have the same issue, although I don't launch the game through Steam.  Submitted a ticket about a week ago but yet to hear anything back.

Well at least we know they must be aware of the issue. Probably busy trying to get that update out.

Same here and in the TAW now I get banned!  and I can't  fly in the server
