Blinking towns/cities, country fields, shadows

Hi all, I've problem even if I tried almost everything in NV Control Panel for my GTX 770 4GB and in-game Video menu new Blitz CLOD:

As in the title when I fly I can see cities " blinking/flashing" noise effect and also some agricultural fields and road contours as little black stripes flashing/forming also some trees shadows same blink/intermittent from many view angles.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? is this common problem or just mine? Thank for any suggestion.

Did you set any sort of external Anisotropic Filtering in Nvidia control panel (is so disable that and only use ingame option)

In Nvidia control panel do you have it set to negetive lod bias for some reason?

Hi, I've followed your instruction disabling AF in NvControl Panel and disabled negative bias LOD and now agricultural fields don'blink anymore, also cities fliker a little bit less,( ;) )    however remain evident the blinking of "trees lines" contourning medium distances POV of roads. This is still same pronounced bad visual effect

Try enabling all shadows?

Yes, I've set at maximum even far shadows

hi, i tried many things too in nvidia inspector to remove all those shimmering/flashing effects,  but look like there is no way i can override or enhance game setup to get rid of those shimmering, only thing helped on my system is the use of DSR to 2x with AA game to 2x, maybe it can help you too

thank you, I will try this too.. but seem a little graphical  "Bug" this trees shimmering may be?

you are  welcome Fox,

I don t think it s a bug to this game , many games got this problems, the little understanding i could get from the net and if i m not wrong, it  is some games don t handle well  Anti aliasing transparency for the shimmering (the barber shop light effect, like distant land view ), and z-buffer for the textures flickering. (roof of building changing colors rapidly per example).

i got BOx almost perfect graphics, with antialiashing x4 and the sparse grid supersampling x4 but it is demanding for the video card, and in game land anisotropic to blur, FPS keep on the vsync to 60fps but on kuban map, flying just over the trees i got 40 fps with a gtx 970 OC to 1600GHz/8000GHz

and for COD my best graphics setting was when i had an AMD card, my 280x toxic with the  (adaptive-multisampling , crimson setting) made the graphics very good, a lot better than my more powerful 970 ... so in short i dont think it s a bug, but some games you can tweak it better than other.

tell me of your result, because you have a 770, you can try lower DSR, i had graphic amelioration with the setting to 1.20x or 1.5x too, but for the best without too much fps hit is the 2x for me , you could try this combined to 1x AA instead of 2x AA ingame setup too for better fps, good luck

Hi Lemon, thank you for your detaled reply and help. I've setted DSR at 2x native resolution and 33%  in my 770 and I'm happy to see that trees blinking is now almost disappeared. I've not tried 1.20 or 1.50 as I see FP are still good at 2x. :)

DSR is not the fix its like a incorrect cure giving a placebo effect

try Defualt Nvidia driver profile

sorry if ati i cant help

ok..but what's the "default" profile Nvidia Panel?  Every parameter in NVCPL is "Global setting" or "individual setting" as x game-list .exe , if you could explain better.. Thank you.

that is your suggestions for BOS,  CoD does nt have the same ingame AA compatibility  , easy to got a perfect quality with BOS with SGSAA per example, but no effect on CoD.

and downsampling is a real gpu AA process by the way, not perfect but highly compatible with anything

Yep I also noticed this profile is good for IL2 BOX, not sure agreeing with LEMON, about CLOD, but we can give a try about it. However I confirm that LEMON suggestion using DSR for solve blinking shadows of trees is quite satisfactory right now.

I hate that game also in this forum :D

Sorry guys.

lol no problem,

i got to give credit to others on the forum for the grid super sampling x4 on BOx , ijust did some search (note msaa must be set the same amount to make it work right) mssax2 sgsaax2 or mssax4 sgsaax4 like, added to anisotropic land to blur ingame option, for many it is the solution to get rid of the most graphic imperfections.

for CoD , for me DSR is the only setting make graphic better but it s far to be as beautiful as BOx on my system, i got big hopes team fusion can fix it when 5.0 is out .. cant wait !

wish you guy great time during holidays and all good in 2018 by the way !
