I've an another Yak1B from the 31 GvIAP with a green/black camo patter and a patriotic tag to do.

After it will depend on when the dev's will release the new planes templates. I'm eager to make P39, Bf109G-6 and La5-FN skins.

This time no problems, the paint schme is green / black.

Some news of the ZSF ... While PatCartier and I are waiting for further information about P39L stencils to complete the 4k template, I've started a skin for the La-5FN.

In a post that I couldn't find anylonger, some one suggest a skin of a La-5FN from the comic "Le Grand Duc" from Romain Hugault ... it is this one I've chosen.

Being way too picky here but.............. 

 

According to the reference pic; the second silver nose band starts at the yellow break and continues higher. WIP

 

Edit; the reference pic looks like a '46 skin mod. Nevermind and thanks for the work.

Oh yeah

 

I have this comic book in german, there it is called "Der große Uhu" translate "The great eagle Owl" because Wulf flies during night missions the He 219 "Uhu"" "The great eagle Owl" and he owns an owl that later was murdered

It is a really superb comic with fantastic drawings of russian and german planes and a tragic stories within the great  war with some kind of happy ending bringing the protagonists at least together  

 

Tere are beside also some nice Focke Wulfs and to the end the Ta 152!

Hello,

 

I think I've completed all the elements that make a template good enough to be used by a normal skilled skiner.

For the moment the template is in 4K resolution and includes :

- Internal & aircraft parts

- 100% new pannel lines & rivets

- Improved shadow pattern

- Basic AMT 7/11/12 paint scheme without markings

- New normal map

Sorry no weathering for the moment.

When i put the La5FN into the Skin FN Folder, the plane becomes violet. Is there any step i missed?

I think so because the DDS file  (La5Fn_B.dds) provided in the pack is not a skin (I haven't released any skin for the La-5FN yet), but the "normal map" which is suposed to be copied in the \data\graphics\Planes\La5FNs2\Textures folder.

So it is normal that you get a violet skin if you copy La5Fn_B.dds in the skin folder because the normal map has a violet background.

 

By the way, this file shall replace the default one, so don't forget to make a backup of the original file.

 

And your mishap suggest that I should write a tutorial to explain how to use this file.

After tuning again some details on the template and the normal map, I've at last started the weathering of the skin.

So you get two files in the plane, la5fn folder? I replaced all with that but nope, didnt work

You can have as many files as you want in the \data\graphics\Planes\La5FNs2\Textures folder, but you can have only one La5Fn_B.dds file. It is this file which will be used by the 3D engine.

Here is an exemple of my folder (mind the path) :

 

 

Also note that skins files shall be copied in the \data\graphics\skins\La5FNs2 folder :
