LuftManu Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Hello, nice work TFS and 1C. Cliffs of Dover has never been this enjoyable! I started this thread to know if I can improve the AA wich for me is really important. Can we use reshade or is the AA going to be improved in future patches? Thank you all!
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I would also love to hear suggestions for AA and other video settings.
354thFG_Leifr Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 You're probably still going to have to enforce AA from an external program. It appears this wasn't fixed.
69thSpiritus Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Reshade was working with a handful of Beta testers who used it. I have good results with these settings in my Nvidia CP:
kestrel79 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 so in game AA has no effect? What about ATI Catalyst AA does that work at all?
354thFG_Leifr Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 so in game AA has no effect? What about ATI Catalyst AA does that work at all? It has been broken since launch, I hope that TFS will look in to fixing it at some point since they are now have a commercial product. Yes, Catalyst AA works to some degree.
YoYo Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I dont see any improvement in 4.5 with this compared the last patched version of TF. So it looks like this official screenshots was edited:
Daytrader Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 AA works perfect for me at x8, no jaggies.
YoYo Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 AA works perfect for me at x8, no jaggies. Can You put the screenshot?
AstroCat Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Yeah AA working for me too. 1080 with latest drivers.
YoYo Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) From VC is difficult to spot something. Here is mine: Shows external picture with wire antenna, this is the benchmark hehehe. I think this official screenies was done in 4k and was resized to this size. AA here is very ok, not like on my 2k and AAx8 in the game and x2 SSGS in NVidia Inspector. I dont see any changes in this subject between TF 4.321 and 4.5 plus Dx11. Edited December 15, 2017 by YoYo
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted December 19, 2017 Team Fusion Posted December 19, 2017 I dont see any improvement in 4.5 with this compared the last patched version of TF. BOO Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 The in game AA (which I think is MSAA) does a good job at removing Jagglies even at 1080P. Its not perfect but not bad. The cost may be to lessen the ability to spot but, for at least, the new lighting seems to make spotting a lot easier than it was in 4.312. I dont believe it makes a difference what level you set it at. The effect is the same. In the Nvidia control panel FXAA also works but again this may affect your spotting. Id advise against using both at the same time for this reason. The Anti Aliasing Mode and Setting in NCP does not have any effect in the game. The super sampling (I presume Anti-aliasing -Transparency in NCP - I use Inspector) does work but its effects are limited, certainly at 1080P, and a matter of taste. If you are considering this, using DSP at 1.77 33% smoothing may also be worth a try to assess the comparative impact on performance between the two. I'm my testing it was largely comparable but the DSR had a more beneficial impact on smoothing the graphics. The rub here again is distant contact spotting but again still found it better in 4.5 with DSR than in 4.312 without.
