I did a quick scan to see if VR is there, was ready to buy. Hopefully soon as I’m quite interested in this battle.

 

How do the two series compare? Is one noted for better flight model, graphics, campaign...etc over the other?

CLoD - full clickpits. FMs were a bit wonky but this patch will have updated them across the board. Generally much more of a IL-2 1946 feel. Visual damage model is far superior.

 

Basically? Each does something better than the other. They are both good and I recommend both, especially before 4.5 was released as you could get it for 5 bucks sometimes.
