1/4 Scale Focke Wulf FW-190

Probably the best example of an R/C Fw190 that I have ever seen. Truly a credit to the builder.

I don't know how people have the nerves to do this stuff. The few RC planes I've flown were essentially cardboard, so it wasn't a huge loss when they inevitably crashed. Flying something as sophisticated as this Fw 190 would terrify me.

Pretty impressive it is scratch built and I love the big models with the Moki radials in them. Motors are as big as some motorcycle powerplants.

First of all...holy crap.

That would be an astounding build for a static model...for an RC aircraft...well I just don't have the words.

I'd never be able to fly it.

 

That being said, it's over-powered like so many RC aircraft that I've seen.

Smaller power plant, closer to scale speeds always looks better, and that's one of the advantages of larger scale aircraft, you can get them to fly more like the real thing rather than

it zipping around like a house-fly, like the smaller scale aircraft. So he missed the mark there IMHO.

 

Or maybe at that scale that particular aircraft still needs that speed...don't know.

I just know I've seen 1/4 or 1/5 models fly at slower, more scale speeds in the past when I was into the RC stuff. 

 

Beautiful build in any case.
