Mebble Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 The stuttering is present on startup and only shows up when the resolution is set at 1920x1080 and none of the other graphical options seem to have any effect on the problem. I'd played earlier in the day without issue and ran into this problem when I started again in the afternoon. I have done a complete re installation of the game after deleting everything in the steam root folder save for my control layout. I've tried out every other game I have and experienced no problems what so ever with any of them. The in-game FPS counter still reads about the same FPS I usually get. Mitthrawnuruodo Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Could you describe the scenario used for your test and give us an approximate framerate number? It is quite possible that the hardware simply cannot reliably achieve 60 Hz @1080p in Il-2.
Mebble Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 I flew an I-16 over the Moscow map and the fps was around 40-50, I should've mentioned the problem also occurs in the menu and map screens. Also 1080 is what I've had it set to since I've purchased it.
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Assuming the current version of Il-2 recently ran well, I'm not sure what is causing the problem; there have been no changes to the game for some time. I can only think of the following generic recommendations: Use some software of your choice to monitor CPU, memory, and VRAM usage Note any values that are too high Lower resolution to see how these measurements change If that doesn't reveal anything, you can also investigate other programs that might be affecting performance and change your graphics driver version 1
