Hi all, excuse my ignorance, but how does one turn off the in game radio chatter  in single player missions please ?

I've literally just got into Bos have looked at the audio settings but cannot figure to switch this off......if it can be turned off,of course.

It can't be turned off ingame.

But if you rename the "radio" folder you can find in the  "..\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Audio\" folder to something else, like "radio_old" or something, then it will no longer play the radio sound. You will still hear a static radio sound when there's supposed to be a radio voice sound, but it's barely noticable.

If you have deleted or renamed the audio folder to stop messages just remember the next update will put it back again.

Yep, as Hyoertexthero said, there are commands for turning the radio volume up or down, all the way to silent if you want. No renaming of files needed.

Though that feature didn't exist back when this thread was first posted.

FYI: I just tried it with the latest update (Mosquito/Arado) and sometimes using Left-Alt and -/+ keys on the number pad don’t work to turn the radio volume down, even though the tech-chat shows radio volume being reduced.

Not sure if this is a bug.

Back to renaming the folder for now :)

I am sure I used the left alt and num pad minus to reduce the radio volume in the Mossie and it worked ok.

As others wrote above, sometimes it doesn't work even though technochat registers the control press. I've yet to figure out a pattern as to when this occurs.
