This last map is really boring, 7 airfields, only 1 non restricted, and without bombs very early ...

I love this server exactly because such things, as running out of bombs, can happen. Probably the other side did a good job destroying factories, transports, and storage.

The map was just starting, almost nothing was destroyed.

And there were many airports with lots of bombs.

 

My idea of having fun is not transporting bombs from an airport to another, so others can throw them.

Everybody has their own taste - I really enjoy this server and it's approach.

Have you tried this last map ??

 

I enjoyed a lot the last one, despite some rules I think could be improved a lot.

But with 7 airfields instead of 3, it changed the game completly.

Yep - just about some hours ago. So what's the point? Are you thinking I do comment things I do not know? As I said,

everybody has their own taste - it seems that the server matches my taste, but apparently not yours. So, no problem.

Why do you change the subject to "If you don't like the server" when I critisezed THIS MAP, not the server !!!!!

 

And yes, I think you comment about thinhgs you don't know, since you don't say anything about the subject I was speaking, and you change to another subject. You didn't tell if you find this map better, worst or similar to the last one.

I did not change the subject - we are talking about the same. Be it this map or another one, we are talking about this very same server. To me, there is no

"better, worse or similar" regarding the maps, so to answer your question. You don't need to be upset, just because I wrote my opinion. I did not criticise

you in any way. OK?

cercataa, are you aware that what is on a map depends on what happened before, that this is an ongoing campaign?

But Cercataa is one of the goals of the game. It's a collaborative game, like a coop. If a base is in deficit, fuel or bombs, pilots must collaborate to resupply. If nobody does that, we lose the base faster and we can not take off from this base.

I just checked the map and there were quite a few airfields on EXPERT Allies side with 10+ tons. If it was different yesterday I can understand there could have been a problem, but it seems production has solved that problem now, or? Of course, if lots of people take off with 1000Kg of bombs on their Pe2s that can change quickly, but that's why people should not always pick the hammer loadout/plane to swat flies.

What exactly must one do in order to use restricted airports.

Fly a plane and land it at a "restricted" field, finish mission. Now your plane will be available from there for use.

From what I could gather after a search on the forum, it appears that this is the connection to my server, not the master server.

 

I have lowered the upload and download limits to 5Mb/s, let's see if that helps, down from 50Mb/s. In practice DServer seems to ignore my settings and the traffic as observed by the performance manager appears to be limited to 1Mb/s. Maybe there are unknown limits, and when exceeded it defaults to 1Mbit/s?

 

Please let me know if that helps (but servers need to restart first, so the change might not take effect before tomorrow). I've also disabled the ping limit for now.

 

Other than that, other players have reported that lowering the MTS in the router solved the problem, but let's not get to that dark magic yet.

I don't know if it is a bug or what... but this is the fourth time this month that I take a Mig 3 and when I am going to open fire, I find that I have no ammo (I mean, not having firing a bullet before).

 

It is rather frustrating when you have an enemy in the sight, push the trigger... and nothing happens!

I am sorry but there is no change. I tried to take off this morning but was disconnected before I could get airborne. That is a total of 17 disconnects now...….all in January.

I have tried flying on other servers and there is no problem. There seems to be a problem only on the Coconut Server (Normal)

I tested my connection to the server (the machine, not DServer) and it seems to be working fine. It seems unfortunately that DServer can't digest the campaign. I'll turn off most AIs until and see if that helps. The thing that's crazy is that CPU utilization is low, and so is bandwidth. I don't understand what's the problem then.

I have looked throughout the forum and it seems there are a lot of people getting the same disconnects on different servers. Therefore, would you agree that the fault lies with the main Dserver as opposed to your server? What can be done?

At present, the whole BoS seems to be unplayable

I tried again yesterday evening. I've been able to do 3 flights without any deco. But in the same time, i saw some players gettig out and coming back a very few time after, like if they've been kick off. That's like an eratic trouble.

Strike that, my expert server has high CPU usage even without battles. Weird thing is that my normal server, running the same campaign with the same setting is not having any problem. Mystery gets more mysterious....

In any case, I'm not sure high CPU usage was the problem, as people playing on Normal, which has a low CPU usage, were getting problems too.

I don't know if the problem is DServer. DServer doesn't tell us much about net statistics. As separate network diagnostics tools haven't really shown anything abnormal, I'd tend to blame DServer. At the very least it should give us proper information to help server admins investigate and mitigate issues. Right now it's repeated shots in the dark, and I've got better things to do with my time.

I saw you or someone else complaining yesterday of that in chat but also witnessing yourself attacking with bombs our frontline airbase. Actually, me and squaddies were bombed twice on runway and just managed to get up before you came. Vulching is allowed, not sure what was the situation with Optic but I see nothing wrong with such behaviour. Chivalrous? Not necessarily but as long as these campaigns are won by breaking more stuff than losing it, I'm good if somebody is skilled enough to drop bomb on my plane or grazy enough to come strafing low.

I took a P40 with a 500kg. I launch it on hangar, even if i saw a plane taxing near it. I didn't target this plane even if it would be easy. I prefer strike the hangar witch was my goal. After, i didn't try to vulch this plane, just try to escape cause there were many planes around and because i hate lose my plane and more important, lose my pilot. Unfortunatly, a p40 can't escape even if the G2 behind me carry a bomb...(i don t know manage the p40, it s not as easy as the 109...). 

For those who try to kill the pilot after, they've been damage and land on there base, or those who vulch an aibase...i hate this spirit...But we're incompatible, i'll lose my time explain my point of view. But i'm ofen boring flying against boys, who've got easier and better plane than ours, and still disrespectful.

I do respect your way of thinking, if you seriously try to avoid hitting parked pilots but I myself would not hesitate one second if opportunity comes to drop bomb onto someone, especially after diving through flak. Then again, we used to escort crippled enemies back to their own territory and let them jump and avoid death or capture back in the good old days, when Coop-wars were the s***. Usually they were pilots who had our great respect / fought bravely against us.

It was us who got you while carrying bombs but we were all happy seeing you manage to to jump, no need to see you lose your pilot. Quess I'm saying that I personally

would and will fly by the rules and if I would  attack an airfield and have opportunity to shoot at a plane, definitely would take the shot but be happy if pilot walks away without a scratch. ?‍♂️?

Coconut; there was strange and very heavy stuttering and warping going on yesterday after spawning, it happened individually to us on different missions. Never had any trouble on your server with lag but this was definitely that. Hope they can fix their junk and we can enjoy you campaign with all the features very soon!

I personally don’t see anything wrong with vulching it happend in real life and coco has said in the manual that it’s okay. Thou I rarely do it myself cause it’s a death wish with the falk at most airfields, also shooting parachutes is a big no no lol

That s ok. But stay for a long long time over the airfield, because germans are ifen many more(never saw this with red pilots), waiting for somebody try to land or take of...that s not the same than plan a strike over a position and go. Perhaps it s okay but it is not fair. A solution would be to hide from where the other side take of. My opinion.
