Alexmarine Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Hi guys; Two days ago, I noticed that the rudder axis of my throttle has ghost inputs whenever I try to use it. I checked both in the in-game configuration and in the Thrustmaster TARGET software and indeed there is a constant right-imput which makes flying with it really difficult. I think it is a problem of hardware, maybe the axis got a little consumed, but I bought it just last May, it seems strange to me... What should I do? Try to get a replacemnet as I still have the warranty on it or should I just buy a set of pedals to have a full set of controls? Or if you have some solutions to this kind of problems I would gladly accept it. Thank you all Alex

Like all "entry-level" joystick this controller (TWCS) use low cost/quality potentiometer in all axis, potentiometer (specially ~$0,10 types) wear out with use and start send erratic signals (spikes). So use the warranty - and when buying controllers look better on their technical specifications (controller resolution, if use contact less sensors or cheap pot's...)* that only in "fancy look" or "nice colors". * Most manufacturers try hide this information.

I was fully aware that it was an entry level product. I went for a cheap but useful set without spending too much as I had to balance my budget betweem the game and the gear. Just a little surprised that it went out that fast or with the amount of time I used it (or I think so). Hopefully I'll get a replacement and pedals so I can just use them for the rudder.
Thad Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Try setting things up 'without' using their TARGET software.
Alexmarine Posted December 9, 2017 Author Posted December 9, 2017 Try setting things up 'without' using their TARGET software. The problem is that I installed the software only after having the problem in the game itself. I used it to confirm that it was probably an hardware and not a software problem.
