Final Release of Battle of Kuban Delayed (A little bit)

Gents,

While perhaps most of you might be disappointed that BOK has been delayed until later into the winter of 2018 (Northern Hemisphere types), owing to the fact that it is currently 35'C here (95'F for the old people and under developed countries) , I'm over the moon that it has been delayed as I'm off on my summer holidays to enjoy the beach, beer etc and at least wait until it cools down a bit before I have to sit inside playing it!

...and at this juncture why do we care exactly?

Who is this "we"?

Are you some sort of a self-appointed representative of IL2 users? Or do you suffer from some superiority complex?

His sound mod looks very promising. I hope it gets released soon.

Sounds like he had genuinely good intention in not releasing his sound files before devs make mod public.

Lot of language barrier misunderstanding going on here it seems to me...

Ya I saw it. Nothing new. I'm talking about External Gauges. You guys are lobbying for something different.

Jason

But technically the same API is used for Andre's simshaker as for gauges (at least for DCS). Same for DIY cockpits or moving platforms. So why not using something that is available yet to define and validate your API ?

I agree with you Mr. Williams,

it's 2017, not 2007, and we want MORE than just  External Gauges.

Christmas Peace Truce anyone?

Correct me if I'm wrong but getting in a community-facing forum pissing match with the lead producer is probably not going to yield the results you're hoping for.

As long as you can keep the team motivated and paid working on the current road map I think that most of us here can wait until next summer :)

I sincerely hope that you will get some more media coverage in the west with Bodeplatte after that. Sorry to say it but I do think that it needs another name unfortunately. And another product moniker instead of IL2 as much as we old-timers like it... Something that people recognize that are not complete history nerds. "Aces over the Ardennes"?

Looking at potential 15-year old sim pilots I can use my oldest son here in Sweden as an example. He has been with me at dozens of air shows and air museums in Sweden, UK, Germany, France and a bunch in the US.

How many Soviet planes do you think he has seen? He can spot the difference between a Spitfire and a Hurricane from a kilometer - and have seen most of the types used in the WTO in museums. He can tell you that the P-40 was used in the Desert after reading about that and knows the difference between a Wildcat and a Hellcat. But has he seen an IL2 or an LA-5? I just went into his room and asked him if he knew what an IL-2 is. His answer: "Easy, It's that game you like to play dad...". But do you know what kind of an aircraft it was? "What - is that an aircraft as well? Never heard of it..."

What is the point of making comments like this?

To get an answer.

However I'm clear on the matter since posting that. What's the point of your post?

Seems like a needlessly forceful response to someone complimenting the sim and making an observation, after having put some work in to an area they subjectively feel could be improved.

If you were looking for an answer and you got it then that's cool and maybe I'm mistaken.

But it sounded like you were telling him to do one.

Was that reference misfire aimed at me, or Gambit?
